Youthmakers Hub Kenya Joins the Launch of the Africa-Europe Youth Academy in Nairobi
On 8 May 2026, Youthmakers Hub Kenya was honored to join the launch of the Africa-Europe Youth Academy at the Novotel in Nairobi, Kenya, marking an important moment for youth empowerment, innovation, leadership, and Africa-Europe cooperation.
YMH Kenya was represented by Dr. Esther Kagure Munyiri, Dr. Heather Edah Kipchumba, and Dr. Christine Wambui Njuguna.
The event brought together ambassadors from the European Union, France, and Italy, as well as senior government representatives, development partners, and youth leaders. The discussions focused on how stronger partnerships can support young people, youth organizations, women, and vulnerable groups through funding, capacity building, and access to new opportunities.
During the launch, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, and the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project shared remarks on youth development and cooperation. The European Union Delegation to Kenya also highlighted the EU Youth Action Plan, focusing on youth participation, leadership, and mobility.
Expertise France presented the vision and implementation framework of the Africa-Europe Youth Academy, funded by the European Union. The programme aims to establish 30 youth spaces across 11 countries and to provide funding support to selected youth spaces and organizations.
Through their presence, Youthmakers Hub Kenya representatives engaged with key stakeholders and explored future collaborations, youth-focused initiatives, and funding opportunities.
