Youthmakers Hub at the 3is project “Learning and Teaching Innovations in Higher Education” Workshop

From November 20 to 23, 2024, Youthmakers Hub had the privilege of participating in the “Learning and Teaching Innovations in Higher Education” workshop, hosted by the University of Girona (UdG). This four-day event brought together educators and academic leaders to explore transformative practices in higher education, offering an invaluable platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and cultural immersion.

The event offered a series of insightful sessions on modern teaching methodologies, innovative assessment practices, and experiential learning techniques. Participants engaged in collaborative discussions on project-based learning, cooperative teaching strategies, and the flipped classroom model, all aimed at enhancing the educational experience. The consortium also met Xavier Aldeguer, Councillor for Innovation, Talent, Health, and Community of the Girona City Council & Aminata Sabaly Balde, Councillor for Cooperation & Councillor for Equality and Social Justice and discussed the critical importance of higher education while exploring opportunities for collaboration.

Youthmakers Hub also had the opportunity to organize a workshop in the framework of inclusiveness. The “Inclusiveness in Digital Communication” workshop, led by Eleni Modou from our team,  focused on how digital platforms can be used to enhance inclusivity, break down communication barriers, and provide equitable access to knowledge. Participants discussed strategies to integrate inclusive practices into digital tools, enhancing communication across academic settings.

Overall, the “Learning and Teaching Innovations in Higher Education” workshop was a powerful experience for Youthmakers Hub. It not only advanced our understanding of innovative practices in higher education but also reinforced the importance of inclusivity, cultural exchange, and shared purpose. With new insights, expanded networks, and lasting memories, we left Girona inspired and committed to driving positive change.
