Youthmakers Hub at Panathēnea Festival 2026 side event: Building the Africa-Europe Scaling Corridor & HFAISTOS as a Living Lab
On 28 May 2026, the Youthmakers Hub team was honored to participate in the official side event of the Panathēnea Festival 2026, “Africa–Europe Scaling Corridor & HFAISTOS as a Living Lab.” The event took place at HFAISTOS in Athens, bringing together ecosystem builders, founders, investors, innovators, cultural actors, and business leaders to explore how Africa-Europe collaboration can strengthen cross-continental growth.
Organized by Changemakers Lab, HFAISTOS, and the Academy of Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with Uni.Fund, Athens Tech Circle, The Factory Music Group, Youthmakers Hub, and DEEP Ecosystems, the event created a collaborative space for dialogue, networking, and practical exchange.
The agenda included a welcome address, guest-of-honor remarks, keynote presentations, a panel discussion, an “Unconference” session, and an evening of networking with Afro-Euro beats. Hosted at HFAISTOS, a cultural and creative heritage space with a legacy dating back to 1935, the event brought entrepreneurship, innovation, culture, and ecosystem-building together in a shared setting.
Throughout the evening, participants discussed the opportunities and challenges of doing business across African markets. A key message was clear: Africa is not a single market. While the continent offers strong opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship, scaling requires local understanding, strong partnerships, and awareness of each country’s regulatory, cultural, infrastructure, and market realities.
The discussions also highlighted the resilience and creativity of African founders, who continue to build and scale solutions despite systemic challenges. Speakers emphasized that stronger Africa-Europe partnerships can help unlock access to capital, new markets, strategic collaborations, and long-term growth opportunities.
Representing Youthmakers Hub, Stefanos Stagakis, Marketing and Communications Manager, joined the “Unconference” session: “Developing the Scaling Corridor through Venture Studios, Partnerships & Programs.”
During the discussion, Youthmakers Hub stressed the importance of intentional synergies among ecosystem players. Sustainable impact is possible when governments, innovation hubs, investors, academia, startups, development actors, and civil society organizations work together with a shared purpose.
Youthmakers Hub also highlighted the need to move from conversation to action by creating enabling environments where partnerships can become real opportunities, ventures, and market access pathways. The message was simple: ecosystems thrive when collaboration is backed by commitment, shared responsibility, and programs that create space for long-term cooperation.
In this spirit, Youthmakers Hub invited participants to continue the conversation through the upcoming Africa-Greece Entrepreneurship (AGE) Summit, a platform designed to deepen collaboration between African and Greek innovators, founders, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem leaders.
The evening concluded with refreshments, networking, and a dialogue by guest artist MC Yinka, presented by The Factory Music Group. This cultural moment highlighted that Africa-Europe collaboration is not only about markets and business. It is also about people, trust, culture, and shared experiences.
The side event served as a strong reminder that the Africa-Europe scaling corridor is not only about business expansion. It is about building trust, enabling innovation, creating pathways for founders, and fostering ecosystems where collaboration can unlock meaningful impact across continents.
