Strengthening AU-EU Collaboration Through Impact-Driven Projects | 20 May 2024
In a significant step towards strengthening the collaboration between Africa and Europe, on May 20, 2024, Marilena Maragkou, Co-founder & COO and Konstantinos Maragkos, Co-founder & CEO of Youthmakers Hub had a remarkable discussion with John Villiers, the Programme and Policy Officer of the Delegation of the European Union to the African Union.
The discussion focused on Youthmakers Hub and its aim to create social change through impact-driven projects, as well as the ongoing AU-EU projects of Youthmakers Hub and the mutual commitment to fostering impactful initiatives that bridge the two continents. Among the critical discussion topics was the 3is: Impactful, Inclusive, Integrated Higher Education in Eastern Africa project, a major initiative under the AU-EU partnership. The project has been a cornerstone in enhancing HEIs in remote areas of Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya, aiming to innovate educational processes, promote inclusive educational practices, and interconnect educational institutions across borders.
John Villiers highlighted the critical role of the 3is project in transforming Higher Education in Eastern Africa. Both parties expressed a solid commitment to continuing to create and implement projects that drive significant impact in the regions concerned.
