The European Solidarity Corps is a funding programme of the European Union that creates opportunities for young people to volunteer, work, train, and run their solidarity projects that benefit communities. A Solidarity Project is an in-country solidarity activity -based on non-formal learning – initiated by young people themselves for a period from 2 to 12 months, addressing key challenges directly linked to the local community they live in, but with a clear EU added value. 

Digitally Present, Physically Active” relates to nutrition, physical, and mental health. It aspires to raise awareness about the importance of a balanced diet and its various beneficial effects on one’s body and mental health. The project aims to cultivate the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, consisting of a life-long healthy diet and continuous physical activity, the positive effects of which will be multiplied by the beneficiaries to the local community. 

The activities under this programme are:

This activity will last one month and will include an informative social media campaign on nutrition and exercise tips. A strategy will be followed for each social media to spread the content to a broader audience. This activity aims to raise people’s awareness and motivate them to change their routines and habits to healthier ones regarding their nutrition and physical activity. 

A live stream with a nutritionist will be organized and moderated by the organization’s team members in order to clarify several myths regarding nutrition. 

This webinar will consist of a roundtable discussion with experts from three different fields: nutrition, physical health, and psychology. What is the connection between them? How nutrition and physical health is influencing psychology? Attendees will have the opportunity to send their questions to the panelists and clarify any doubts they have. The roundtable will take place in Zoom, and in case there are more than 100 participants, there will be a live stream on Facebook. 

A series of videos with fitness exercises will be shared through social media to give ideas to people about simple exercises that they can try daily to keep fit. The videos will be developed in collaboration with a volunteer professional trainer and will be short and accurate. Through this activity, participants will start exercising and get motivated to follow a healthier lifestyle.

Participants will be motivated to upload photos or videos of their healthy habits related to nutrition or physical exercises. They will tag specific accounts and use the hashtags recommended by team members. In this way, more people will be inspired and motivated to follow this trend and follow a healthy pattern of life.
