Job Overview

The Communications Specialist will play a key role in strengthening YMH’s visibility and supporting communications across our portfolio of EU-funded projects, organizational services, events, and the YMH e-shop. This hybrid role requires a versatile, detail-oriented communicator who can craft engaging content, manage digital channels, and support strategic campaigns that align with YMH’s vision.

Reports To: Head of Communications Department

  • Collaborate with the Head of Communications to design and implement communication and visibility strategies for YMH and its projects.
  • Support the creation, execution, and improvement of marketing and promotional strategies across organizational initiatives.
  • Draft, proofread, and upload website content (articles, news, research outputs, project deliverables).
  • Prepare weekly content calendars and coordinate with the Graphic Design team via Asana.
  • Manage correspondence through marketing@youthmakershub.com, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Draft analytical texts for videos, reports, and InDesign-ready content for designers.
  • Provide regular updates on communication performance, KPIs, and recommendations.
  • Represent YMH in consortium meetings and internal briefings.
  • Oversee organizational-level communication and visibility actions.
  • Collect testimonials and success stories for promotional use.
  • Contribute to the YMH e-shop by drafting product/service descriptions and assisting in promotional strategies.
  • Ensure consistency and quality in all day-to-day communication activities.
  • Manage and monitor YMH’s and its projects’ social media accounts.
  • Draft engaging copy and content tailored to each project and audience.
  • Coordinate with Graphic Designers on visuals, banners, and video content.
  • Plan, execute, and schedule multi-channel campaigns.
  • Ensure proper tagging, story coverage, and consistent engagement with audiences.
  • Respond to community interactions (messages, comments, story reactions).
  • Contribute creative ideas and brainstorm innovative campaigns.
  • Conduct live event coverage and boost dissemination through digital channels.
  • Track KPIs (reach, impressions, engagement, growth) and prepare monthly reports.
  • Support LinkedIn outreach, connection-building, and digital networking.
  • Produce and edit social media videos (Reels, TikToks, vidcasts).
  • Maintain and expand YMH’s media contact database.
  • Build and nurture relationships with journalists, influencers, and external stakeholders.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and media advisories.
  • Design and send newsletters, monitoring their effectiveness (open and click rates).
  • Conduct media monitoring and prepare reports on coverage and impact.
  • Secure interviews, podcasts, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Coordinate media partnerships and external visibility activities.
  • Continuously optimize outreach strategies to maximize exposure.
  • University Degree in Communication, Marketing, Media, or a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in English and Greek (written and spoken); other languages are a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and travel when required.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a communications, marketing, or similar role.
  • Strong enthusiasm for communication and visibility work.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling abilities.
  • Familiarity with content creation, website management, and social media strategy.
  • Professional conduct with empathy and teamwork attitude.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to multitask and handle interconnected tasks.
  • International experience (e.g., living/working abroad for at least 4–6 months or participation in 3+ Erasmus+/international projects).
  • Open-mindedness, cultural awareness, and a history of travel.
  • Proficiency with office software, web-based tools, and databases.
  • Strong command of social media platforms and ability to adopt new tools quickly.
  • Experience with Canva; knowledge of Illustrator/Adobe Suite is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
  • Skilled in newsletter tools (e.g., Mailerlite, Mailchimp, LinkedIn).
  • Proficiency with AI tools and advanced prompting (e.g., ChatGPT).
  • Familiarity with CMS (e.g., WordPress) and email marketing platforms.
  • Understanding of design tools to collaborate effectively with designers.
