Climathon 2022: Igniting Sustainable Solutions in Chania, Crete | November 2022

In late November 2022, specifically from the 26th to the 27th, we held a two-day event called “Climathon Chania 2022” in Chania, Crete. This was part of the Erasmus+ project nEU Citizenship and was the fourth of seven events under the KA1 Erasmus+ program, co-funded by the Erasmus+ of the European Union and the Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (INEDIVIM). The event was a collaborative effort between Ecogenia, Youthmakers Hub, and “Athena” research and innovation center, which runs the EIT Climate-KIC Hub Greece, and was supported by the Municipality of Chania. The primary goal of this two-day Climathon was to engage young members of the Greek community in a marathon of ideas, with the aim of generating sustainable solutions to environmental challenges in their city. The three main challenges we focused on were sustainable transportation, sustainable tourism, and waste management.
