Youthmakers Hub Brings Youth-Led Innovation to the AU-EU Innovation Agenda
Youthmakers Hub represented the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab – Power of the Collective at Workshop 6 – Youth-Led Innovations, held online on 23 July 2026 as part of the “Implementing the AU-EU Innovation Agenda” series.
Organized by the African Union and European Union, in collaboration with the Africa-Europe Innovation Platform, the workshop brought together 180 young innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, youth-led organizations, policymakers, institutional representatives, and development partners.
Silvia Diazzi, Senior Project Manager at Youthmakers Hub, delivered the presentation “Empowering Youth-Led Innovation Through Skills, Opportunities & Community.” Her contribution highlighted how the programme supports young people through funding, capacity building, research, advocacy, networking, and meaningful participation in Africa-Europe cooperation.
The session also positioned Youthmakers Hub within the wider AU-EU innovation ecosystem as the programme’s Communication, Dissemination, and Visibility lead. Particular attention was given to the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab App, designed and developed by Youthmakers Hub as a free digital entry point for learning, opportunities, certificates, consultations, and community engagement.
Significant milestones from the App’s first year were presented, including 5,258 active users, more than 40,000 logins, 1,212 course completions, 270 opportunities, and an 86% user satisfaction rate. Participants were also introduced to 21 free courses and the practical “Research – Pitch – Promote” learning pathway.
